This Friday at KPS ...

On 16th June,  Kingswood Photographic Society has its second Summer Night Outing of the year.  The location is the Somerset Speedway {Burnham on Sea}, meeting at main entrance at 6 o'clock.  The postcode for the speedway is TA9 4HA, junction 22 off the M5 or A38.

I am very much looking forward to meeting up with members who have already signed up for this exciting photo opportunity. There is still time for anyone else interested but closing date is June 12th as all members have to be booked into the event in advance. This is a great photographic opportunity.  The cost is £17 per person which includes a buffet. Normal entrance cost £16 without food!  Please note we will not be allowed to use flash during racing.

With best wishes, Dave Dimond, Social Secretary   (My mobile no. 07899 014523 should you need it)

FURTHER DETAILS SOMERSET SPEEDWAY Photos & Food nights at the Oaktree Arena

·       Experience and photograph the exciting sport of Speedway, enjoy some hospitality and find out what goes on behind the scenes

·       Last year we had visits from several Camera Clubs and Photographic Societies, notably Bridgwater Photographic Society, Bristol Photographic Society, Dorchester Camera Club  and Lyme Bay Photo Club. Already this year we have had a highly successful visit from Wellington & District Camera Club, and  from the feedback I received from those organisations, a great evening was had by all. Don’t take my word for it, try it for yourself, or even contact those clubs and ask what kind of evening they had

·       Groups offered a table in the Clubhouse, exclusively for their use, giving access to the VIP and sponsors area, if you wish, and we will also provide you with a Buffet of Cold Meats, Salads, wedges, or chips.

·       In addition the groups will have a pre-meeting tour of the pits and track, explanation about the sport, which is one of the most exciting motorsports around, with machines that will out accelerate a Formula 1 car from a standing start to 60mph. On top of that they have no brakes, and no gears, and race on an enclosed circuit, made up of loose shale, and all on a motorbike that only weighs around 70kgs, and produces over 70bph, and often race just inches from the safety fence, whilst neck and neck with an opponent

·       You don’t need to stay in the guest area, you are free to wander the public areas, and take photographs of the action (subject to some safety rules etc). There are numerous great viewpoints around the arena all of which will provide you the opportunity to capture some stunning images. All we ask is that you consider the enjoyment of the other supporters whilst doing so.

·       For 10 Persons (Minimum number at this price) the cost is £17.00 per head, which represents great value, when you consider the normal cost of an Adult admission is £16.00 per head (without food).

NB        Pre-meeting tour of the Pits (open to public 6.00 – 7.00) and Track, subject to available time

Drinks are not included, but can be purchased separately from the clubhouse bar
