This Friday at KPS ...

On Friday, 8th July, Kingswood Photographic Society is delighted to welcome staff from Clifton Cameras.

This is a change to our printed programme and we are very grateful to have reached an agreement with Clifton Cameras of Dursley, Gloucestershire.

Eric Pleydell says:  “When I visited this shop, I came away highly impressed with the very different layout of this independent retailer's range of photographic equipment and would recommend a visit. The staff are very helpful and professional and it is a very relaxed environment in which to simply browse without any pressure”.

The general plan for this evening is that we will hear about the current trends and developments in technology and how that is shaping the buying habits of enthusiasts at all levels of interest, including learning about the growing movement towards the lighter-weight mirror-less cameras and why they are having a significant impact on buying trends. Our presenters will talk about and demonstrate the features and benefits of these lighter cameras in practical terms with some examples of images to help identify what can be achieved through switching to this option.  Subject to having enough time the company will also talk about lenses, which ones to use and the correct circumstances to use them in.

In the second half of the evening, the theme is going to be Drone Photography, which will include capturing video data in a generalised manner.

This is intended to be very much a hands-on opportunity to handle these exciting new cameras.  You will see some examples of the quality images achievable and of course to challenge the experts with your questions. This should certainly be an interesting and informative evening so do come along to discover where the trends are going and join in the discussion.

Kingswood PS meet Fridays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ.  Visitors are most welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.
