Entries for the third quarterly competition will be retained with the approval of the photographer. They will then receive observations from our internal panel on the night and, in addition, those attending will be encouraged to participate fully and offer helpful remarks.
The aim of this type of evening is to provide members the opportunity to learn what judges are looking for and to improve their photography. Do come along and join in what should be an educative and fun evening.

Visitors are always welcome as this evening gives an excellent opportunity to see members’ work and to hear the feedback offered. Kingswood PS meets Fridays at 7.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ. The cost for this evening is £3.00.

The Exhibition is open to all KPS members and the rules can be found on pages 26 & 27 in the current programme, but they are also included below for the benefit of our newer members and for those who have not previously entered this Exhibition.
KPS ANNUAL EXHIBITION RULES
1. The Exhibition will be open to members of the Society and all entries must be the work of the member. Trade-processed prints are eligible without being specified as such.
2. Open Class – all prints and DPIs will be judged in the following categories:
Pictorial
People
Record/Applied
Nature
Awards will be made for the Best Print or DPI in each category, including the Best Colour Print and Best Monochrome Print across all categories.
3. Intermediate Class – all prints and DPIs will be judged in a single section and the following awards made:
Best overall Print
Best Monochrome Print
Best Colour Print
Best overall DPI
4. In addition, irrespective of Class, the Bennett-Salanson Bowl will be awarded to the Best Print and the Frank Scroggs Memorial Trophy to the Best DPI in the Exhibition.
5. It is hoped a Member winning the Premier award in the Intermediate Class would be promoted into the Open Class for the next Competition year.
6. A maximum of 6 prints and 9 DPIs per member can be entered. An entry form must be completed with the member’s name, competition number and titles and handed to the Competition/Exhibition Secretary with the entry.
7. For the Open Class only, the entrant may indicate on the entry form in which category a Print or DPI should be judged. If a category is not specified it will be judged in the Pictorial category only.
8. Prints and DPIs entered in previous Annual Exhibitions are not eligible, except in a higher Class, ie a print or DPI winning an award in the Intermediate Class may be entered the following year in the Open Class.
9. Prints may be any size with mounts from 30 x 25cm up to and including 50x40cm maximum. For Panorama prints ONLY a mount size of 70x35cm is allowed. DPIs to be 1400x1050 pixels landscape, maximum 1050 high if portrait and all jpeg files.
10. All prints must be marked on the reverse side with the member’s competition number ONLY and a title to assist identification. In addition, prints must be marked 1– 6. In the event of an excessively large entry it may be necessary to reduce the quantity of prints displayed. The higher number from each entrant, unless receiving an award, will be withheld.
11. DPIs to be sized, formatted and titled as above. A list of titles for the prints and DPIs must be handed to the Exhibition Secretary with your entry.
