For my piece this week I want to do a “This is your KPS Life” on Ronald Miller.
On Tuesday of this week I was delighted travel to BEER in East Devon to represent KPS and attend a Celebration Luncheon for the 90th birthday of Ronald Miller. Also present were friends from two other Groups which during his retirement he was passionate about – the local Probus Club and his Golf Club.
Ron is an Honorary Life member of the Society, having joined in 1948, and went into the Committee in 1950. In 1952 he became Competition and Exhibition Secretary then served as Chairman from 1954 – 1961 when ill health forced him to resign. In 1966 we made him President which position he held until 1988 when he and his wife Audrey (who had also been a member of the society) moved away to live in BEER, and at that time we conferred on him an Honorary Life Membership.
I sent a card on behalf of the members and committee of Kingswood P.S. which had the s.s. Great Britain on the cover and the KPS logo and a message on the inside.
