This Friday at KPS .....

There is an unfortunate change to the programme as Angela Williams, who was due to present The Norman Parkinson Archive 1950 – 1964, is unable to be with us due to illness.  We hope that Angela will return to full health rapidly and that we can welcome her to KPS in the near future.

In Angela’s place our Programme Secretary, Andy, has come up with what should be an interesting and informative evening for us.  This will be a print talk consisting of the excellent work of the 25 or so Fotospeed Photographers with a commentary on a CD by Margaret Salisbury.

Fotospeed has a team of expert photographers and lecturers covering the whole of the UK. The distinguished group of twenty seven ladies and gentlemen are generally Fellows of the Royal Photographic Society and have accreditations from other august learned photographic bodies.

In 2012 a Travelling Portfolio of prints by all the Fotospeed Photographers was curated by Margaret Salisbury FRPS MFIAP FIPF. When putting the travelling portfolio together Margaret asked for the very best of each photographer’s work demonstrating their recognised style. The portfolio is all printed and mounted by Fotospeed for a consistent look.

Margaret also offered to do the commentary and this gives us the benefit of her many years of judging and sitting on the RPS Distinctions panels.

We are fortunate in having two Fotospeed Photographers in our Society, Andy Beel FRPS and Adrian Herring ARPS, DPAGB, and we will be able to see if their work sits comfortably with the best in the country!

The Fotospeed Photographers Travelling Print Portfolio will inspire, educate and entertain.

This promises to be an excellent evening.  For a preview of the Fotospeed Photographers and what they do please go to http://www.fotospeed.com/gallery.asp

Kingswood PS meet Fridays at 7.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol  BS30 5JJ.  Visitors are most welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.

NEXT WEEK   MARTIN FRY  FRPS  From Gloucestershire to Cornwall
Martin is the Chairman of the Cheltenham Camera Club and a very well respected producer of Audio Visuals.  We are pleased that he has agreed to present to us his show called ‘From Gloucestershire to Cornwall’, a landscape full of beauty to inspire.
