“We hope that the members, who attended, found something worthwhile to take home with them and that there was something in the programme for everyone. Wildlife photography is not everyone's cup of tea!
We feel that we did not make ourselves clear when saying about never switching the car engine off. Please let us clarify that we always switch the engine off when photographing wildlife as the vibrations cause unsharp pictures. However, when close to an elephant or if feeling threatened in any way, it is very important not to turn the engine off. With experience, we can usually tell when an elephant is comfortable in our presence. In that instance, we will turn the engine off, but we always have the car in gear, either 1st or reverse, so we can move quickly if necessary."
Kingswood Photographic Society is very grateful to Clive and Joan. We thank them warmly for passing on their experience and for sharing their love of wildlife photography with us. You gave us an absolutely superb evening.
Kingswood PS meet Fridays at 7.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ. Visitors are most welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.
