WCPF 2010 Members’ Exhibition

Congratulations to Mike Challenger for sweeping the board with his four colour prints that he submitted to this year’s exhibition. His image Death Valley Dunes gained the Gold Medal, whilst he also obtained a Ribbon for Tangle Creek and the other two entries were accepted. He is one of only three people to have all four images accepted in an individual class, a tremendous achievement.

We understand that it was particularly difficult to gain an acceptance in this year’s exhibition due to lack of space at the exhibition venue in Bideford. We hear that the overall acceptance level was a mere 7% of entries, although that has to be confirmed. As a consequence, it is good to report that we also have other members’ work represented. Vanessa Herring had a colour print accepted and Joanne Searle a Monochrome Print. In addition, in the digital section, Adrian Herring had three acceptances in the General section and Shirley Britton one acceptance, whilst Bruce Gibbs gained an acceptance in the digital Nature section.

For those interested in seeing the exhibition, it is being held at the Burton Art Gallery and Museum in Bideford from 22 April to 21 May. Opening times are Mon to Sat 10.00am to 4.00pm and Sunday 11.00am to 4.00pm. For further information go to WCPF Members' Exhibition acceptances 2010.
