This Friday at KPS ...

Kingswood Photographic Society has a Print & DPI Critique Evening on 18th August, when members can receive constructive comments on their images or simply share their photographs with others.

A number of members have indicated that they will be showing either prints or digital images so we know we are in for an excellent evening.  However, as this is always a very popular night, with normally more people wanting to speak than there is time available, we suggest between 10 to 15 images are included in the first instance, leaving our Chairman to judge whether there is space for additional ones.

When members show their photographs, we hope they will explain why they choose to press the shutter when they did and what they wanted to achieve when processing them.  What we are especially hoping to see is work from those who have not been entering competitions, as this is a good occasion for us all to see what type of pictures are taken by members for themselves.  It will also be fascinating to discover just how many were not taken on an SLR camera, as we know good quality images can also be made on simple compacts and with cameras on smart phones.

This type of evening provides us all with the chance to learn what judges are looking for and to improve our photography.  So, please come and enjoy what should be an educational and enthralling evening.

Visitors are always welcome and this evening in particular gives an excellent opportunity to see members’ work and to hear the feedback offered. Kingswood PS meets Fridays at 7.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ. The cost for this evening is £3.00.

We hope to see you there.
