On
July 14th, Kingswood Photographic Society
has its first Creative Evening, launched by my fellow Programme Secretary
and ‘better half’, Adrian Herring. It follows
on from the successful digital editing workshop evening let by Chris Dean last
September.
Last year
demonstrated the way that pictures could be altered to give them greater impact
but this evening is also all about how people see the same image differently. Starting with the original file we will compare the
end result by people who have only worked on them but were not at the location
it was captured. The option will then be given for
you to explain how the end result was achieved.
Several members have
submitted digital files which Adrian made available via a Drop Box link. These
images are photographs which have frustrated the photographer but who believes
could be of value photographically. If you
haven’t already taken part by post-processing an image or two, why not go to
the "Creative Evening 2017" link on
Dropbox by clicking on ‘Go to folder in the box below.
You will be invited to ask Adrian’s permission to access these images and when he has responded to you, you will be able to view and alter them in the post-processing you use.Can you then please bring what you have done, including the original image, on a memory stick or cd to the meeting on Friday week. This will certainly be a most interesting, informative and instructive evening. On these evenings, members are especially encouraged to ask questions and to share their knowledge. So, see you on Friday and remember to bring your notebook.Visitors are always welcome and this evening in particular gives an excellent opportunity to see members’ work and to hear the feedback offered. Kingswood PS meets Fridays at 7.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ. The cost for this evening is £3.00.
