This Friday at KPS ...

Kingswood Photographic Society is absolutely delighted to welcome for the first time, Peter Brisley ARPS and Sue O'Connell ARPS, EFIAP/s, DPAGB, DPE4* as their speakers on Friday 13th January.  Peter & Sue will be showing their prints DPIs and talking about ‘Travels Towards the Edge’.

PETER BRISLEY www.peterbrisley.photography
Peter for many years used photography as a tool for recording his work as a designer, processing his work in the darkroom. Later, when he began travelling the globe with his wife, Sue O’Connell, he started to record his trips to relatively unknown regions. Inspired by the work of Wilfred Thesiger, Sebastiao Salgado and Michael Kenna, he now concentrates his photography (still mostly monochrome) around people, architecture and abstracts.

Following a successful academic career, Sue brings the same precision and focus to her work, concentrating on countries that are less visited and at the cutting edge of change.  An enthusiastic salon entrant, she has won many awards and has been a finalist 3 years running in the Travel Photographer of the Year competition. Her work has featured widely in the photographic press and has also been exhibited in the UK, Malta and at Photokina in Germany.

This promises to be an absolutely superb evening.  For a taster of some of the treats that are in store, pop on to Peter's website, www.peterbrisley.photography and also have a look at Sue’s website, www.sueoconnell.photography.

Kingswood PS meet Fridays at 7.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol  BS30 5JJ.  Visitors are most welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.
