Kingswood Photographic Society is
absolutely delighted to welcome Gill Cardy FRPS, DPAGB, AFIAP, as their speaker
on Friday 25th November, who will be giving a print and digital
image presentation talk entitled The Path
to Fellowship.
Gill
says: “I have been taking photographs, since schooldays, and have dabbled in
most processes of photography from monochrome film and prints, colour
transparencies and printing and other processes before eventually succumbing to
digital. I have rejoiced in the
fantastic developments in camera and computer technologies, and am still
endeavouring to master them. I have always been interested in, and indeed have become obsessed by, Natural History particularly, though I enjoy many other subjects. Since retirement my husband and I have been lucky enough to travel widely – usually in pursuit of interesting birds and their habitats. I have long wanted to see the Japanese Cranes and was thrilled by a winter trip to Japan, which started me on some other winter subjects, in an effort to put together a Fellowship application,
cajoled, bullied and greatly encouraged by
Joan Ryder Rathband.I hope you will enjoy seeing some of my attempts at collecting images, along with the wonderful places that I visited along the way, and the sometimes trying and testing conditions endured.”
We trust you agree that this promises to be a fascinating evening so we hope to see you there.
Kingswood PS meet Fridays from 7.30pm to around 9.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ. Visitors are most welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.
