This Friday at KPS ...

Kingswood Photographic Society is absolutely delighted to welcome back Martin Fry FRPS, EFIAP/b, EFIAP-AV, BPE4, APAGB, as their speaker on Friday 14th October who will be giving a digital image and AV presentation talk entitled The Cotswold Lad Returns.

Martin just likes capturing that magical moment from the rolling hills of the Cotswolds to the drama of the Cornish Coast.  One of the leading exponents of audio-visual in the country, this passion stems from his love of photography and combining images, in particular the ‘magical’ third image.  He feels audio-visual is such a creative medium, giving the image maker the freedom to express ideas, share experiences or communicate a message through vision and sound. For over a decade Martin has produced AV’s to accompany singer/songwriter Johnny Coppin’s Christmas Tour and last year with Johnny staged a celebration to mark the centenary of Gloucestershire author, Laurie Lee’s birth.  Over the last three years Martin has also been on the salon trail with his still images, gaining over 100 awards and some 1500 acceptances in 35 countries.  At the same time he has gained FIAP distinctions in AV.  Tonight, the Cotswold Lad Returns as he takes us on that journey from Artist to Excellence or is it accident to emergency!

Martin gained his Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society in AV using 4 projectors and since the digital age has developed this art form.  He has lectured to over 300 clubs across Britain and is well known as an International judge in all areas of photography, and a past member of both the RPS and PAGB distinction panels.  Martin received an APAGB for services to the Midland Counties Federation in 2004 and the coveted Dobson Henry Medal for Services to AV in 2013.  He is also a committee member on the highly acclaimed Cheltenham International Salon of Photography and a committee member of the RPS AV group leading the event in Cheltenham.

For those who have heard Martin present before will know that this will be an utterly superb evening.  It is definitely one to relish so we hope to see you there.

Kingswood PS meet Fridays from 7.30pm to around 9.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ.  Visitors are most welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.
