This Friday at KPS ...

Kingswood Photographic Society is absolutely delighted to welcome Richard McCleery as their speaker on Friday 9th September who will be giving a digital image presentation entitled Photo Odyssey.

Richard says: “Photo Odyssey is reflections on a personal journey of photographic discovery, from commissioning advertising work and pro-assignments to mostly amateur work for the love of it, with the central idea that everyone can achieve success or pretty much anything they want, given appropriate effort and focus.  I will aim to make it more pictorial rather than philosophical and plan to show more of my emerging interest in constructed/creative imagery.”

Richard's talk is illustrated throughout with images from many genres including still life, sport, portraiture and creative.  He hopes his journey, part serendipity part directed, will chime with and encourage others, as we learn how he sought to balance life, work and satisfaction with competition success and failure.  Interspersing the images, Richard will touch upon motivation, ideas to refresh one's work and how he learnt to harness defeat to improve his photography.

The illustrative photographs are three sample 'Salon' images from photo genres that Richard will talk about, and they demonstrate well why this promises to be an absolutely fascinating evening.  By request, Richard will also show us a few images from a Whitby Goths event.

Kingswood PS meet Fridays from 7.30pm to around 9.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ.  Visitors are most welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.
