On 10th June, Kingswood
Photographic Society has its second Summer Night Outings of the year.
The location is Bath ’s
Short Skyline Walk which goes from Sydney Gardens ,
along the canal and up and down Bathwick Meadows. Our Social Secretary, Hilary Kay will
lead us and she says: “Come and enjoy a walk along the canal and up
Bathwick Meadows for a panorama of the Bath skyline.
There are lots of opportunities for photography and some exercise.
Wear appropriate footwear.”
The plan is to meet on the pavement outside
the Holburn
Museum near the entrance to Sydney
Gardens for a prompt 7pm departure, so do give plenty of time to walk
from wherever you’ve parked your car. For
further information about this place, including where it’s situated, go to
their website, http://www.holburne.org/,
The plan is to
return, passing the cricket ground and North Parade and ending up at Bog Island (and if
you’re interested to know the derivation of this name go to the web link, http://wikimapia.org/3499292/The-Bog-Island). On Bog Island , there is a pub called The Huntsman where Hilary
hopes we will be able to get something there but, if not, there are plenty of
other watering holes nearby. For
an alternative route to The Huntsman, aim for
the Abbey or Putney Bridge as Bog
Island is close by.
These types of evenings provide a
great chance for members to spend time together, for taking photographs and
sharing photographic knowledge or simply socialising with one other. Any
questions about this or other outings, please contact Hilary, hkcroft@gmail.com or 01380 722288.
