This Friday at KPS ...

Kingswood Photographic Society is absolutely delighted to welcome Les Loosemore ARPS, DPAGB, AWPF, as their speaker on Friday, 18th March who will be giving an illustrated print talk entitled A Return Visit.

Les says:  “My attitude to photography is very simple, particularly being a bit of a simpleton myself. Firstly and most importantly, the priority is to derive total pleasure from what I do.  Secondly, it is hopefully to share the result of my pleasure with others.  I do that by showing my work to like minded people, hence my involvement with camera clubs.

I am most privileged to be sponsored by Fotospeed which allows me much freedom to do a lot of printing.  However, there is a lot that happens before the print stage. Again, my attitude at the very early stage of my passion for photography is to ‘Make the image before I take the image’.  Although there are software packages that can be used to enhance ones photography, I firmly believe that such software will not make a bad image good, however, it just might make a good image better.  From the perspective of slide work (remember the 35mm positive film!), you certainly had to apply the ‘make the image before you take the image’ attitude.

This promises to be an absolutely excellent evening so we hope to see you there.
