This Friday at KPS ....

Kingswood Photographic Society is absolutely delighted to welcome Tony Gervis FRPS, as their speaker on Friday 4th March who will be giving an illustrated talk entitled Visions of America.

Tony says:  “After travelling the USA in my own motor home every year for the past 37 years, every state, 114 National/State parks, with exclusive passes to five of Americas top 10 rodeos, Visions of America is the presentation I will give tonight. Last year, I visit America on two occasions, the second time to take a group of Worcestershire Camera Club members on a three week photographic tour of The South West.

In 2013 I was privileged to be offered a two year contract to be The National Parks official photographer which I had to turn down but was given the freedom of The Grand Canyon and The Petrified Forest.

After my sons wedding in 1999, the photographs were so poor, having no experience of photographing people I said, ‘If I couldn't do better, I’d throw my camera away’. I did it for five years, having 28 weddings in the final year, and enjoyed every one.

My style, I suppose, is travel related, it matters not where or when.  I recently did a 19,000 mile three month trip by myself across Europe, Asia, including Iran several of The Stan countries and Russia ‘For the hell of it’.  It did supply me with images for another presentation, One man and his van.

This promises to be a fascinating evening so we hope to see you there.

Kingswood PS meet Fridays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ.  Visitors are most welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.
