Before entering it is worthwhile looking at their web site in order to determine the type of photographs that has been successful in previous years. There is a wide remit and it is a matter of selecting the appropriate photograph. Entry is free and open until 5pm on 31st July 2010.
Individual pieces of work will be judged on impact, creativity, composition, originality and technical abilities. Winners receive cash prizes, and are displayed in the international Environmental Photographer of the Year exhibitions. The photographer retains copyright. The judging panel includes photographers Gary Braasch, winner of the Ansel Adams Award for Conservation Photography, Anthony Epes and Ronnie Israel, as well Lord Smith, the Chairman of the Environment Agency and Nick Reeves, Executive Director of CIWEM.
