Wins for Mike Challenger and Elizabeth Restall

Kingswood Photographic's annual programme includes two unusual competitions, the Frank Thomas Trophy (FT) and the Andy Pauline Trophy (AP). Each competition involves entering a set of three prints for the FT or digital images for the AP as a themed set. The judge, Peter McCluskey FRPS APAGB commented on the high standard of the entries and presented the trophies to the winners

Mike Challenger's set of prints of the Bacterial Mats in Yellowstone received the Frank Thomas Trophy. A set of Kertesz-inspired images titled 'On Reading' and entered by Elizabeth Restall was judged the top digitally projected entry and received the Andy Pauline Trophy

Kingswood's 2009 programme still has one more quarterly competition on October 30 and the year's climax will be the Annual Exhibition Held on November 13

Who Are KPS?

Kingswood Photographic Society is one of the UK’s leading photographic groups, having been formed in 1948 by a handful of keen photographers.
Over the years, KPS has become renowned for the quality of its annual programme, with an emphasis on well-known outside speakers from around the UK. In addition, members run other evenings, with the aim of sharing their knowledge with others. Practical and competition evenings make up the balance of the programme, with AV being the latest innovation.
Within our normal programme, we hold a number of digital workshops. These are some of the reasons KPS attracts an enthusiastic, talented and friendly membership. Above all, the programme is designed to suit photographers of all ages and abilities.
