This Friday at KPS .....

Kingswood Photographic Society is absolutely delighted to be showing the Sigma Imaging Presentation and the images included in the 103rd London Salon of Photography 2014 on Friday 6th February.

SIGMA - Ed Spencer, The Exhibition and sales coordinator at Sigma Imaging (UK) Ltd says: “For some time we have wanted to support UK camera club evenings and so we set out to produce a presentation that would be informative without being overly sales driven. This we have done by means of a DVD presentation that looks at many aspects of lens manufacture from the smallest parts up to the more obvious aspects such as the optics. Of course this is focused on the Sigma way of doing things where we are a family run business that values the individuals working for us throughout the world. The location of the factory in Aizu is also a corner stone of our way of doing things, originally selected by Sigma founder Michihiro Yamaki for its water and air purity which is again reflected in our presentation. This means of course all our products are manufactured in our own Aizu factory rather than sub contracted around the world as is so common these days. All Sigma products are ‘proudly made in Japan’.

By making this presentation in DVD format we felt it would enable us to accommodate more Camera Clubs (there were over 350 when last we counted, logistically we can’t visit you all personally while at the same time we hate to say no when you express an interest), while giving event secretaries the most flexibility to incorporate it in your calendar.

For further information about Sigma, pop onto the website, www.sigma-imaging-uk.com.  This should be an interesting evening, no doubt augmenting good discussions about photographic equipment so we hope to see you there.

LONDON SALON OF PHOTOGRAPHY – The aim of the London Salon of Photography is to exhibit only that class of photographic work in which there is distinct evidence of artistic feeling and execution. This is always an interesting set of images which are from photographers all over the world.
