Ed says: “I use BLURB publishing for my travel books, horological books and astro photography, and will bring examples of each to the meeting. Obviously this is a year ahead so BLURB may change, but I will endeavour to bring the latest download and superficially explain how it works, so as not to bore the members. The software is downloaded from their site and is well explained, but I can give hints about style - pitfalls, etc.
Astro Photography is quite interesting as it
covers the rudiments of digital photography using a monochrome CCD chip,
through red, green and blue filters to make the colour image - processed in
specialist software, but combined in Photoshop.
Using a monochrome camera also allows the use of narrow band filters,
Ha, Oiii and Sii, to combat light pollution.
Specialist cameras are used to produce the best images with cooling down
to minus 40 degrees Celsius to combat noise.”This promises to be a fascinating evening so we hope to see you there.
Kingswood PS meet Fridays at 7.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ. Visitors are most welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.
