Out and About .....

A photographic opportunity

What    Gloucester History Festival features over 100 events which will take place at various venues across the city including Gloucester Guildhall, the Historic Docks, Gloucester Cathedral, City Museum and The Folk Museum.

This Festival offers a selection of exciting events, for example the opportunity to celebrate the end of the Royalist siege of our city on Gloucester Day and hear about the least known of rulers who have shaped Gloucester, Aethelflaed of Mercia. Relive the Second World War in an Air Raid shelter, watch archive film from the 50s, bring antiques to be valued, see Civil War re-enactments and listen to the Town Pipers. Then there are no less than eighteen great talks about local and national issues. Several draw on anniversary themes and especially the start of the First World War.

When   Saturday 6th to Friday 19th September 9.30am – 5.00pm (Sundays 10.00am – 3.00pm)

Admission         Entry for events is free but many require tickets, which are available from Gloucester Tourist Information Centre, 28 Southgate Street, Gloucester. Tel: 01452 396572.
