This Friday at KPS ...

Kingswood Photographic Society is absolutely delighted to welcome Peter Siviter EFIAP as their speaker on Friday 2nd May giving an illustrated talk entitled A kind of magic

Peter says: "I joined my first camera club in 1978, Hagley Camera Club. I started entering FIAP and PSA exhibitions in 1981 and won my first medal in Smethwick International, a judges medal with an image called fade to grey, which went on to win FIAP and PSA gold medals. I joined Smethwick PS in 1983. I have won 6 PSA gold medals with 5 different images, I also have two sets of FIAP medals Gold, Silver, Bronze and FIAP ribbons. I have won the best slide at the PAGB club championships being the first person to do this twice.

I have been a judge and lecturer for over 30 years in prints, slides, DPI and AVs. I have now converted to Digital for prints and DPIs. Last year I won the best social document DPI, the best portrait medals at FIAP exhibitions along with another medal and several HMs.

My love is street photography and I travel all over the UK for street scenes, I then use photoshop to change the backgrounds and other items. I also travel widely with several trips abroad each year and most of the images are used in AVs and also backgrounds for my street photography.

I enjoy creating AVs and DPIs which are a little different from the normal and I believe I have a very creative mind and produce images which have a style of my own."

This promises to be an absolutely fascinating evening so we hope to see you there. Kingswood PS meet Fridays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol  BS30 5JJ.  Visitors are most welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.

FRIDAY 2ND MAY IS ALSO HAND IN night for Q2 competition so bring your entries with you.  Please remember to indicate your order of preference in each section in case of the need to cut back the total number of entries.

PLEASE NOTE  - Peter Phillips is planning to order more Nomad photo storage boxes in the near future and would like to know who would like to buy some.  The more orders he gets the cheaper the price and the greater the saving on the delivery charge.  Please look at the Nomad website http://www.nomadcases.co.uk/our-products/print-boxes/, which may help you decide what you would like.  Peter will be collecting orders over the next few weeks.
