This Friday at KPS ...

On Friday December 6th, Kingswood Photographic Society Alan Searle, our Equipment Manager will demonstrate the use of ColorMuncki, which is a photo calibration unit from Colour Confidence Ltd.  The calibrator has been chosen because of its cost and apparent simplicity to use.

We should now be able to calibrate our two laptops and projector as a regular routine. Also members will be able to calibrate screens and produce printer profiles for any combination of ink and paper at no cost to themselves. The software can be installed on any member’s machine, PC or Mac.

This should go a long way to standardise colour rendition for the DPI competitions.

This demonstration is expected to take half the evening, after which, we will be shown members’ work that has been submitted for an outside competition or as part of a distinction application.  If there is time left after that we will look at pictures that have been accepted for a major regional or national/international competition/exhibition.

Visitors are always welcome and this evening gives an excellent opportunity to see members’ work and to hear the judge’s comments. Kingswood PS meets Fridays at 7.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ. The cost for this evening is £3.00.

EGM at 7.30pm on Friday 6 December …
Prior to the start of the ColorMonki section of the evening, there will be an EGM with the sole purpose of electing an Accounts' Examiner/Auditor for the year until the AGM in November 2014.
