This Firday at KPS ...

We are particularly delighted that at very short notice a Kingswood Photographic Society member, Tony Cooper ARPS has agreed to give an illustrated talk which he has entitled, A Strolling Interview.

Tony says, “Everyone has heard of Cartier Breson’s ‘Decisive Moment’ whereas absolutely nobody has heard of my ‘Revealed Surprises’.  The term ‘Decisive’ summons up the impression of a sharp eye, an alert mind allied to resolute action.  My photography is quite, quite different.  I often potter back to a spot I passed five minutes earlier to be surprised that the image which has formulated itself in my mind over that period remains there and that joy of joys an everyday image like a tree or a door can become the subject of a minor revelation.

Thus through the lens of a camera I can communicate with you my very personal appreciation of the mundane and the ordinary.  No complicated kit.  Just a coat with a deep pocket.  One camera body and a lens of modest focal length and the world that strolls into view!”

We are certainly in for a superb evening, so see you there.  Visitors are always very welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.  Kingswood PS meets on Fridays at 7.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol  BS30 5JJ.
