David says: “My photography these days is exclusively black & white. It is film based and I still print in what is called a wet darkroom. I derive most of my personal enjoyment from photography through the craft of print making, which is why I still remain over on the dark side.
In
both my camera work and my darkroom printing, I am always trying for an
interpretation and an expression of mood, rather than a straight record
picture. This has meant I often resort
to unconventional methods, one of those is Lith printing. I also used a lot of infra red film throughout the 80's and into the 90's. Regrettably when Kodak ceased production of HIE, I was forced back to more conventional black and white films.
Monochrome
photography has always been more about tone, texture shape and form, and these
are characteristics that I try to bring into my work. Some of my more recent work is about camera movement, working on themes, and creating sets of prints. A wider view of my work can be found on my website http://www.davidlingham.co.uk”.
