This Friday at KPS ...

Kingswood Photographic Society is absolutely delighted to welcome back, Jenny Byram EFIAP, DPAGB, BPE1* as their speaker on Friday 8th June giving an illustrated talk.
Jenny says: “I have always loved taking photographs and acquired my first camera when I was six, but it wasn’t until 1991 that I discovered the world of camera clubs when I joined Hanham PS.  I moved to Thornbury CC in 1999, when I married Tony Byram, and now am also a member of WAVES and of The Vale in Welsh Federation.

I take pictures of almost anything and would not claim to have any particular style. I most enjoy travel photography and turning my holiday images into sequences using Pictures to Exe.  It was because of P2E that I joined WAVES, though I don’t consider what I create to be pure Audio Visual.  I also like playing around with images in Photoshop.

My favourite place for photographs is Venice, especially at Carnival time and many of my most successful images were taken there.

Whilst I own a Digital SLR, I prefer to use a Fuji bridge camera.  It is lighter and I don’t need to change lenses or to worry about dust on the sensor. Moreover, I rarely print.  I think the last prints I made were for last year’s Great British Small Print Circuit!

I gained my DPAGB in 1998 and last year I achieved my EFIAP.  I continue to enter International Exhibitions as I suspect I have become addicted to them!”

This promises to be an excellent evening so we hope to see you there.

Kingswood PS meet Fridays at 7.30pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol  BS30 5JJ.  Visitors are most welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.
