This Friday at KPS ...

Kingswood Photographic Society is absolutely delighted to welcome, for the first time, David Mason as their speaker on Friday 2nd December, giving an illustrated talk, Mainly Street.

David says, “My personal style of photography falls into the genre of street photography. The recording of the everyday occurrences as they happen, generally within the urban environment.

One needs to become accustomed to wandering the streets and becoming aware of and pre-empting situations as they arrive.

For me street photography is the most unique and original form of photography, with every image being a one off. Never will that situation happen again. The combination of a cast of strangers combined with the ever changing backdrop of the urban streets and textures.

Occasionally the technique may change when, rather than purely randomly wandering around waiting for something to happen, you come upon a special location. Perhaps a street corner bathed in a particular light. There could be a certain juxtaposition of elements that come together.

I also enjoy capturing images of details and the textures which make up the environments that I enjoy working in.”

This promises to be an excellent evening so we hope to see you there. For a taster of some of the treats that are in store, pop on to Dave's website.

Kingswood PS meet Fridays at 7.30pm for 7.45pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ. Visitors are very welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.
