This Friday at KPS ...

Shaun Boycott-Taylor ARPS, LRPS, one of Kingswood Photographic Society's members, will show his work and share his knowledge about print mounting and presentation.

Shaun says, “My primary interests lie in Wildlife Photography and I set out to capture the beauty and majesty of Wildlife. Having been brought up in the countryside I am drawn to capturing images of British Wildlife. We are surrounded by amazing Nature that sadly some people pass by and never notice. I am a supporter of various Wildlife Conservation and Protection Charities and I am an active supporter of Secret World Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre in Bridgwater.

My Photography has rekindled my childhood interest for all living creatures and I have developed a passion for wildlife in particular Birds; that hopefully manifests itself in my photographs. I am inspired by my fellow photographers who have already made the journey into producing outstanding images, some of whom I am truly grateful to for giving me their time and knowledge so freely. I was awarded my Royal Photographic Society LRPS in July 2008 and my ARPS in September 2010.

As a relative newcomer to Digital Photography in 2007 I was confused as to how to mount my images for competitions and exhibitions. After much trial and tribulation in trying to mount images I spent some time with professional framers and have learnt some of the ‘dark art’ of picture mounting and framing that hopefully I may be able to pass on to others.”

This promises to be an excellent evening and for a glimpse of what to expect have a look at Shaun’s website.

Kingswood PS meet Fridays at 7.30pm for 7.45pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ. Visitors are very welcome and the cost for this evening is £3.00.

We hope to see you there.
