Blast from the past No.3.

Blast from the past No.3 concerns a report published in Newletter No.96 dated December 1984.

"Were you there? If so, skip this page - if you were absent, you missed a superb photographic event. Almost threequarters of the K.P.S membership bought tickets and we are grateful for your support.

You joined people from as far apart as Plymouth to Stroud and Swansea to Bracknell in Berkshire.

First arrivals at 9.30 am enjoyed Pat's coffee and we soon swung into the day with John Michael FRPS who simply hurled over 130 colour prints at the display board with a verbal attack to match!

Liquid lunch or otherwise followed and then Katie and Ian Platt ARPS and FRPS, began the afternoon with Natural History slides together with a dual commentary to describe how they had taken the shots.

Pat's cuppa was very welcome before Clive Harrison FRPS gave us his talk - the first slide was sheer magic - a white horse in misty early morning light - and what followed was again a magical look - mainly at children - which is his specialty. The tea break came with the chance to look at the Exhibition, the Trade Shows - and a peep at the two models - or perhaps just a relaxing few moments out in the sunshine.

The evening Audio Visual Show is almost beyond description - Hazel Andrea FRPS sung, played guitar, recited poetry, controlled two projectors and two spotlights - all from her music stand on the side of the stage, her slides were good too! The music may not have been to everyone's taste, but one just had to admire the sheer professionalism of her performance.

We cleared up, retired to the bar for a glass or two, and went home exhausted but happy. As I said at the start, a SUPERB Day and special thanks go to the committee and others. Don't miss the 1985 CONVENTION "
