This Friday at KPS

Kingswood Photographic Society is absolutely delighted to be able to welcome John Chamberlin FRPS, MFIAP as their speaker on Friday 3rd December. He will give an illustrated print talk entitled Seeking Perfection.

John’s photography, perhaps against current trends, is extremely wide ranging. Entirely self-taught, he relishes having broad photographic interests and works in a variety of mediums. His motivation comes from a desire to tackle different subjects and put his own stamp on each image, whilst at the same time making his pictures accessible to a wide viewing public. He works in both monochrome and colour with a preference for the initial image to be captured in colour. From a colour capture he now produces both monochrome and colour prints. After many years using film material he now works entirely using digital capture.

As well as pictorial and creative work and images taken on worldwide travels, he is an extremely active nature photographer with a particular love for Africa, a continent he has visited over twenty times. Living as he does in a major city, he particularly enjoys photographing in remote locations far from the bustle of western civilisation.

John is a member of Arena so, why not whet your appetite for Friday by seeing some of his images on their Members’ gallery.

Visitors are very welcome. Kingswood PS meet Fridays at 7.30pm for 7.45pm at St Barnabas Church Hall, Warmley, Bristol BS30 5JJ. The cost for this evening is £3.00.
