As we now have regular electronic editions of INFINITY, I thought it might be of interest to reflect on the history of the KPS Newsletter and its Editors.
They have included a very diverse bunch including a Company Managing Director, an RAF Officer, a ‘Bristol’ Car designer, an Insurance Broker, a Fork-Lift Trucker Trainer, a Nuclear Scientist, the Head of Photography at Brunel College, a “would be” Liberal MP and a Sandwich Bar Owner!!
Edition No.1 - a foolscap stencilled two-sided sheet by Vivian Croucher, was issued in June 1960, and edition 14 became a hard covered folder version. In 1980 the then editor designed a new graphic cover which was in use until 1996, when it was changed to ‘infinity’ line drawings. This again changed under the editorship of Betty Billingham who introduced actual photographs on the cover in January 2000 and this continued until Steve Cox, our current Editor took over in 2007 – I have every edition – all 169 - if anyone would like to see them!! Now we are available on the Internet and each edition wings it’s way regularly to 70 email addresses.
