Most photographers sooner or later will wish to create an AV (audio visual) presentations - slideshows. To do that you’ll need images (easy – you create ‘em) and music (not always so easy but wait there’s some help on the horizon¬)
Here’s InfinityExtra’s insight into how you can find creative commons licensed music for your next AV.
First, a little lesson on Creative Commons or “CC” (hop along to www.creativecommons.org for more detailed info). Creative Commons is a form of licensing where, whilst ownership is preserved, the author can choose to allow users some or all rights to use work without charge but with various levels of attribution.
There are many sources of Creative Commons content out there (photography, video, text, etc). But let’s help you find some music.
Hop along to the following
www.archive.org, www.jamendo.com, http://creativecommons.org/audio/, www.magnatune.com, http://netlabels.org/
or just do a search for creative commons music and see what you can find.
Respect the the CC license and away you go. Enough free music for 500 feature films let alone our 10 minute AVs. Enjoy.
