RPS Panorama Group - First Workshop Mar 8th 2009

Thanks to our friend Betty Billingham FDPS, APSA, AFIAP, ARPS for bringing this to our attention:

RPS Panorama Group - First Workshop
Panoramas for screen and print. March 8th.2009. Fenton House Bath.

A short workshop by John Law, Principal Lecturer (ret), Bath School of Art & Design

There is some interest at the RPS in the area of panoramic photography. A proposal has been accepted by the committee to set up a panorama group. At a meeting on Sunday 14th December some large pano prints were shown and a number of members expressed an interest in learning about panorama making, and suggested a workshop which will be held on the afternoon of Sunday 8th March from 2-4pm.

There will be a short illustrated talk on the history of panoramas and on current pano practice including 360ยบ immersive panos, hirez gigapanos and vrobjects followed by demonstrations of equipment and software. Participants will be able to get some hands-on experience of professional equipment to build sample panos. Low-cost solutions will also be explored. A £5 charge will be made by the rps for building security.
