The upgrade path. Inherited from the world of computing is well and truly here. Every month another manufacturer releases another piece of kit which is claimed obsoletes everything else that went before it. Enough!
I love buying a new camera. There's something mystical about the smell as you open the box, pull out the camera, put on the lens and play with controls. But do I need one? No. Do you? Maybe.
Of course, you could say that I'm confusing want with need. Probably so. But this is a recession, I can already enlarge the images from my 5D and 20D to over a metre across so I can't justify the upgrade. Perhaps if one of the current two breaks down I'll reconsider.
How do you feel? Have I got this wrong and you're ready to go out and splurge?
